Special Plant and Animal Lists - Recent List Changes

The Department of Fish and Game produces the four lists immediately below. The Special Plant and Special Animal lists are updated in January and July of each year. The Threatened and Endangered Animal List and Threatened, Endangered and Rare Plant List are updated in January, April, July, and October of each year. To provide updates when they happen between the updating of the lists, we have provided an area immediately below where we will list the updates as soon as we are aware of them. The most recent updates are in red type and generally will remain on this page for six months after the posted date.

Also, check the bottom of this page for a variety of plant and animal lists from the State and other sources.
