Notice of Availability of the 2011 Black Bear Hunting Draft Environmental Document
Public Notice: Notice of Availability of the 2011 Black Bear Hunting Draft Environmental Document
Project Description and Location: The proposed actions being considered by the Fish and Game Commission is to modify current mammal hunting regulations to increase the number of bears that could be harvested to 2,000 animals before an early-season closure occurs and to modify bear archery hunting season dates. The objectives of the proposed action are to maintain the State's black bear population in a healthy and viable condition for the enjoyment and use of all Californians and to continue providing limited public sport hunting opportunities. The 2011 Black Bear Hunting Draft Environmental Document analyses the effects of these proposals with regards to the environment.
Project Review Period: The Draft Environmental Document is being circulated for public review and comment for a period of 45 days, commencing February 3, 2011. Public comments regarding the environmental effects of the project being considered are welcomed.
