Education & Outreach  -  Senior Volunteer Program

The Senior Volunteer Program assists the Department by providing enhanced public service to the community while offering opportunities for senior citizens to make a definitive contribution toward protecting California's wildlife resources.

Training Requirements

The following training is essential for the SVP volunteer, and every attempt shall be made to complete the training within 60 days of the hire date.

1. Department of Fish and Game Employee Orientation
2. Senior Volunteer Academy
3. Drivers Training and Observation
4. Defensive Driver's Training
5. Hunter Safety
6. First Aid and CPR

In addition, volunteers are eligible to take training courses offered by the Department, on a space-available basis.
