Notice of Availability and Intent to Consider an Initial Study for the Mitigated Negative Declaration for Bolsa Chica Lower Mesa Restoration Project

Project Location

The Lower Bench of the Bolsa Chica Mesa, the Bolsa Chica Ecological Reserve, Orange County, California. The project site is east of the Pacific Coast Highway and is bordered by Bolsa Bay to the west, Warner Avenue to the north, the Hearthside Homes housing development on the upper bench to the east, and restored lowlands to the south.

Project Description

The Lower Mesa Restoration Project for the Bolsa Chica Mesa is a cooperative project between the California Department of Fish and Game and the Bolsa Chica Land Trust. The goal of this project is the creation/rehabilitation of the 118 acre property incorporating 6 sustainable habitat areas and the completion of a perimeter trail system utilizing a portable on-site native plant nursery and volunteer efforts from the community.

Public Review Period

The IS/MND is being circulated for public review and comment has been extended for a period of 30 days starting February 15, 2011. Your views and comments on the project are welcomed. Written or email comments must be postmarked or submitted no later than March 17, 2011 and should be submitted to the following address:
