Aside from planning for and conducting these response activities, the Branch also oversees the operation of a coastal network for wildlife rescue, the Oiled Wildlife Care Network(OWCN), which is responsible for the rescue, transport and rehabilitation of oiled wildlife during oil spills. The Branch also manages programs that address the cleanup of non-oil pollution, including chronically contaminated sites and inland spills of various pollutants, as well as a marine invasive species monitoring program.
