Now is the time to apply for the special Women's Pheasant Hunting Clinic at Camp 5 Outfitters in southern Monterey County. The Central Coast clinic, on Indian Valley Road near San Miguel, begins at 7:30 a.m. on Dec. 4, 2004.

The clinic is a unique learning opportunity for beginning hunters and a fun outing for those with more experience. The day includes classroom, range and field assistance in the techniques of gun handling and safety, pheasant hunting and game care. There will be shooting practice as well as two seminars on wildlife and hunting. A barbecue lunch is included.

Permits for the clinic will be selected by drawing on Nov. 10, 2004. Hunters must have a valid hunting license, and provide their own shotgun and ammunition. Hunting dogs will be provided (please do not bring your own dog).

Hunters interested in a permit must apply in writing listing their:
Name
Mailing Address
Telephone Number
2004-2005 Hunting License Number

Cost is $10 per person, payable to Camp 5 Outfitters on the day of the hunt.

Application must be received by Nov. 9, 2004, with one application per person allowed. Applications may be stapled together to accommodate people who would like to participate together. If spaces remain available, applications will be accepted after that date on a first-come basis.
