The California Department of Fish and Game (DFG) is pleased to announce its return to the International Sportsmen’s Expositions and Fred Hall Fishing, Tackle and Boat Shows in 2005. Fish and Game Director Ryan Broddrick said the Department will operate license counters and informational booths at six events throughout California to better serve and inform hunters, anglers and other outdoor enthusiasts.
DFG has agreed to participate in the following shows:
- Jan. 12-16: Fred Hall Fishing, Tackle and Boat Show - San Francisco
- Jan. 20-23: International Sportsmen’s Expo - Sacramento
- Feb. 3-6: International Sportsmen’s Expo - San Mateo
- Feb. 25-27: International Sportsmen’s Expo - Pleasanton
- Mar. 2-6: Fred Hall Fishing, Tackle and Boat Show - Long Beach
- Mar 16-20: Fred Hall Fishing, Tackle and Boat Show - Del Mar
“The vast majority of ISE’s customers are also our customers,” said Broddrick. “These shows give us a unique opportunity to meet thousands of hunters and anglers over the course of a few days - to answer their questions, hear their concerns, and give them a convenient place to buy their annual fishing licenses.”
Whether a one-day sport fishing license or annual fishing and hunting license is needed, they all will be available for purchase at this year’s shows. DFG license counters will be open during most of the shows’ hours, providing a full line of sport fishing licenses, hunting licenses and tags, including items that are not available through most license agents such as bobcat tags, lifetime license applications, and reduced-fee sport fishing licenses for those who qualify and have their required documents. Tags and stamps will be available for the remaining hunting seasons, including duck stamps, upland game bird stamps, bobcat and pig tags.
In addition to license agents, DFG fisheries experts and enforcement personnel will be available throughout the shows to answer questions and provide informational material on a wide range of subjects.
