Meetings: North Coast Regional Stakeholder Group

NCRSG Meeting Formats

Public Meetings: The majority of MLPA North Coast Regional Stakeholder Group (NCRSG) meetings will be formal, public meetings (also known as "plenary" meetings). Public meetings include all members of the NCRSG and contain updates on the MLPA Initiative process, scientific and informational presentations, and NCRSG discussions and decisions. NCRSG members will present their draft and revised MPA proposals at public meetings. Public meetings are simultaneously webcast. Audio and video archives of the meetings will be available on the MLPA website a few days after each meeting. Additionally, DVD copies of the meetings will be available at some local libraries and government offices. All public meetings of the NCRSG include a general public comment period.

Work Sessions: The NCRSG will sometimes meet in work sessions. Work sessions provide NCRSG members with focused, face-to-face opportunities to pursue their charge of developing alternative MPA proposals. NCRSG work sessions are not formal public meetings and are not videotaped or webcast. All work sessions are open to members of the public, who may attend as observers; while there is not a public comment period, there are informal opportunities for members of the public to share their perspectives with NCRSG members and MLPA Initiative staff.
