The South Coast Regional Stakeholder Group (SCRSG) is the primary source of alternative marine protected area proposals to the MLPA Initiative Blue Ribbon Task Force. MPA proposals developed by the SCRSG work groups will be analyzed by the MLPA Master Plan Science Advisory Team, California Department of Fish and Game, California Department of Parks and Recreation, and MLPA Initiative staff, and will be used by the task force for developing a recommendation for the State of California.
Three draft MPA proposals have been developed by the SCRSG:
