Information for Round 1 North Coast External Proposed MPA Arrays by Community Groups
All files require Adobe Reader.
External proposed marine protected area (MPA) arrays were developed by the north coast community groups for Round 1 in the MLPA North Coast MPA planning process. These external MPA arrays will be analyzed by the MLPA Master Plan Science Advisory Team (SAT), California Department of Fish and Game (DFG), California Department of Parks and Recreation (State Parks), and MLPA Initiative staff. They will also be reviewed by the MLPA Blue Ribbon Task Force (BRTF). In addition, the MLPA North Coast Regional Stakeholder Group (NCRSG) will receive the information and evaluations of these north coast External MPA arrays.
Eight North Coast External Proposed MPA Arrays have been submitted by community groups and details about the arrays are listed below:

Evaluations on Round 1 North Coast External Proposed MPA Arrays by Community Groups
Various methods are being used to evaluate marine protected area (MPA) arrays for the Marine Life Protection Act (MLPA) North Coast Study Region. Evaluations of MPA arrays are conducted relative to MLPA goals, science guidelines, potential impacts to commercial and recreational fishing, California Department of Fish and Game (DFG) feasibility criteria, and California Department of Parks and Recreation (State Parks) guidance.
From this page you can view a document that describes the various evaluation methods, the evaluations of external proposed MPA arrays, and additional supplementary information.
