Notice of Availability and Intent to Consider an Initial Study/NegativeDeclaration for the Draft Upper Butte Basin Wildlife Area Land Management Plan, (UBBWA) Butte and Glenn Counties, California.

Project description and location:

The UBBWA is located in Butte and Glenn Counties and is comprised of three units: Little Dry Creek, Howard Slough and Llano Seco for a total of 9,375 acres. The area has been acquired through a series of transactions by the Wildlife Conservation Board and California Department of Fish and Game (Department). The UBBWA is managed by the Department for its natural resources and for the public’s use and enjoyment of those resources. The primary purpose of the LMP is to establish goals and guidelines for the operation, maintenance, and public use of the area. The Department will use the LMP to help guide the specific tasks for managing the habitats, species, cultural resources, facilities, public uses, and various other activities that occur in the area.

Public review Period

The IS/ND is being circulated for public review and comment for a period of 30 days starting November 2, 2009. Your views and comments on the project are welcomed. Written or email comments must be postmarked or submitted no later than December 1, 2009 and should be submitted to the following address:
