Boden Canyon lies in the northeastern portion of the San Diego Multiple Species Conservation Plan (MSCP) which identifies the area as a core resource area and important biological linkage to areas outside the MSCP. In addition, the property is located within the San Dieguito River Park - an assemblage of open space and park lands which will one day extend from the ocean near Del Mar to the Anza-Borrego Desert east of Volcan Mountain. The 2,068-acres that make up the Boden Canyon open space mosaic are owned and managed jointly by the California Department of Fish and Game, City of San Diego, and County of San Diego.
