Lake Davis Fisheries Management
Lake Davis Steering Committee
Pike first appeared in Lake Davis in 1994, were apparently eradicated during the highly controversial 1997 rotenone treatment, but then reappeared in May 1999.
The Department’s director at the time, Robert Hight, met with community members to discuss the problem. A Lake Davis Steering Committee was formed of community members to promote communication between the Department and the community. The Lake Davis Steering Committee meets regularly with the Department to share ideas about dealing with the pike issue. In December 2003, the Steering Committee requested that the Department research alternatives for ridding pike from the reservoir, while protecting public health and the local economy.
