Renewable Energy

To meet the Governor’s Renewable Portfolio Standard by the year 2010 California needs to obtain 20 percent of its energy from renewable resources or “green energy." Wind and solar energy have been identified as green energy sources available to meet that need. To date, dozens of new wind and solar energy facilities have been proposed for a variety of locations throughout the state.
To respond to a growing need for renewable energy information, DFG designed this Web site to provide information to developers, project proponents, lead agencies and DFG staff. Information will be added and updated as it becomes available.
