Conservation and Mitigation Banking Guidelines

CDFW has finalized the new Guidelines for our Conservation and Mitigation Banking Program. Fish and Game Code Section 1799.1 requires CDFW to prepare Guidelines in coordination with interested parties. The Guidelines are intended to help clarify and facilitate the bank review process for bank sponsors, the public, and our staff.

CDFW hosted a public meeting to introduce the draft Guidelines, and to answer any questions about the Guidelines and the public comment process on March 26, 2014. If you were unable to attend in person, click on the link below to view the presentation which summarizes key features of the Guidelines and the public comment process.

Many thanks to all the people who participated in our online survey and submitted comments about the draft Guidelines. Department staff considered all input carefully and subsequently made a number of changes to the Guidelines. Click on the link below to read a short summary of the public review process and results.

Thank you for your continued support of wildlife and habitat conservation in California through conservation and mitigation banking.
