Convening Stakeholders

Partners from the non-governmental organization community, academia, state, and federal agencies will be participating in climate change stakeholder meetings sponsored by DFG. The stakeholder group will provide direct input to the Director's Climate Change Task Force as well as maintaining and increasing communication and collaboration among stakeholders and DFG.

Stakeholders met for the first time on April 2, 2008 at the Resources Building in Sacramento, Calif. The objective of the first meeting was to gather input from partners on their views of the types of issues DFG should be addressing while constructing an overall climate change strategy. The meeting was well attended with more than 25 different organizations and agencies represented. The group plans to reconvene in late May.
