The most complete computerized inventory of California's rarest species and natural communities available!

RareFind 3 is a Windows-based application offering access to all CNDDB text data. It contains over 70,000 records on more than 2,500 rare native plants, animals, and natural communities in a convenient, searchable database. RareFind 3 can either be used as a standalone research tool or linked with GIS software such as ArcView or ArcGIS for greater flexibility. The RareFind 3 application is delivered to CNDDB subscribers on CD upon their initial subscription. Alternatively, subscribers may use RareFind 4, the Internet version of RareFind.

GIS Data are supplied as a shape file, to be viewed and used in GIS software such as ArcView Tabular (text) data accessed using Rarefind©. Example of a text report from Rarefind©.
