Monitoring and Assessment Program
CMAP
The California Monitoring and Assessment Program (CMAP) was initiated in January of 2004. CMAP is a continuation of EPA's EMAP Western Pilot Program (WP) (California 1999-2004). CMAP will use the same study design as EMAP-WP.
CMAP will continue to contribute to the advancement
of the science of water quality monitoring in California
by providing the State Water Resources Control Board
with the necessary information to make accurate and
statistically valid statements about the quality of
water in California.
CMAP will also provide water quality managers with invaluable
trend analyses that will maximize the efforts of the
previous years of statewide assessments.
